Glassboys Aim to Reverse League Dip

Stourbridge will be hoping to get their play-off challenge back on track tomorrow as they return to league action against Whitby Town.

The Glassboys haven’t won a league game since the last day of October, and the poor run of form has seen them slip to 11th in the table.

Eight points now separate Stourbridge from the play-off places, though they do have three games in hand on 5th placed Workington – a side they lost 2-1 to just a few weeks ago.

The Glassboys picked up December wins in the Buildbase FA Trophy – knocking out Bradford Park Avenue in the final preliminary round and Leamington in the first round proper – but have struggled to convert cup success into league form.

It’s not just Stourbridge who have struggled to pick up three points though. Whitby Town haven’t won a league game since the end of September and have lost seven of their last 12.

Whitby will make the trip to the Black Country from the North Yorkshire coast hoping to avenge a 3-1 loss against Halesowen last time they made a trip to the region.

The North Yorkshire side sit 19th in the league, five places above the bottom of the table. They have picked up 25 points from their 25 games so far this season.
