Mayor Backs Operation Santa Campaign

The mayor of Dudley is backing this year’s Operation Santa and is calling for people across the borough to donate gifts and toys to families in need this Christmas.

Organised by Dudley CVS, Operation Santa sees gifts distributed to families who are struggling below the poverty line in Dudley.

Council staff are collecting items for the appeal at various offices across the area up until 15th December.

Alongside toys and presents, wrapping paper and Christmas themed food can also be donated.

Cllr Dave Tyler, the mayor of Dudley, said: “Operation Santa is a wonderful scheme, which Dudley CVS has been running for over 40 years. It gives people the opportunity to share a little Christmas joy with those who are less fortunate than they are.

“If you’re out shopping, it’s easy to pop an extra gift or food item into your trolley, knowing that this gift will mean so much to a family in need this Christmas.”
